“Samantha loved nothing more than being surrounded by her family and friends, and many memories, gatherings, and cherished times were spent at the Dorset. Nights and days at her Grandparents’ house were precious, too, spent with little sister Carly, big brother Lee, and their little cousin Hannah. Many memories could be told of what they got up to at Grandma Eileens and Grandma Alberts, but the love in Boscombe Drive will forever be remembered.”
Rest in peace, Samantha
Samanthas Life Story
“Born to Live”
Samantha Jane Madgin—a vibrant soul whose presence lit up every room and whose love for life touched all who knew her. Samantha was not just a mother, daughter, sister, Grand daughter, niece and friend; she was a shining example of love, strength, and resilience.
Born into the loving arms of Alison and Stan, Samantha was a cherished part of a close-knit family. A family that had a passion to travel the world together, creating beautiful memories that remain etched in their hearts. Alongside her big brother Lee and little sister Carly, Samantha embraced every adventure with joy and curiosity. Florida held a special place in their hearts—a destination that reflected their love of togetherness and shared experiences.
Samantha’s journey through life was one of ambition and dreams. After finishing her education at St. Thomas More High School, she explored paths as varied as becoming an air hostess and working as a dental nurse, but deep down, Samantha was destined to forge her own way. Her ultimate dream was to study business and one day take the reins of the family’s beloved Dorset Arms Hotel in Wallsend. It was a place filled with laughter, warmth, and love, where countless family gatherings and cherished memories were made.
A family-oriented woman, Samantha adored spending time with her grandparents, Eileen and Albert, who were the “King and Queen” of their family. Her time at Boscombe Drive with her siblings and cousin Hannah remains a treasured chapter in their lives, filled with joy, laughter, and stories that will be passed down for generations.
Samantha’s greatest joy came with the arrival of her son, Callum. Though her pregnancy at 18 was unexpected, Samantha embraced motherhood with grace, strength, and an undeniable glow. Callum became her world, and she was the epitome of a devoted mother. In just 68 days, Samantha poured a lifetime of love into her son, showing everyone what it truly meant to be selfless, nurturing, and full of hope.
Tragically, Samantha’s life was taken far too soon. The night of August 2007 changed everything, and the family and friends who loved her were left to grapple with an unimaginable loss. Yet, even in the face of heartbreak, Samantha’s legacy has grown to become a powerful force for good.
In honor of her life and to prevent others from suffering the pain of losing a loved one to knife crime, Samantha’s family launched Samantha’s Legacy on what would have been her 30th birthday. This incredible initiative, led by her mother Alison, sister Carly, and cousin Yvonne, has worked tirelessly to raise awareness and prevent violent crime. Through sharing Samantha’s story and educating young people, they have saved lives, changed mindsets, and ensured that Samantha’s light continues to shine.
Samantha Jane Madgin was “born to live,” and in her short time, she lived with a passion and love that left an indelible mark on all who knew her. She now rests peacefully in the arms of her beloved brother Lee, reunited in a place of eternal love and peace.
Samantha will forever be remembered as a mother, daughter, sister, Granddaughter, niece and friend who embodied kindness, strength, and joy. Though her time with us was far too brief, her legacy will endure in the hearts of those who loved her and in the lives she continues to impact through Samantha’s Legacy.
Rest in peace, Samantha. You are forever loved, forever missed, and never forgotten.

A tribute to our Sam, may her legacy live on.
You were more than just my big sister; you were the person I looked up to, my best friend, and losing you will forever haunt me. Your laughter was the melody of my childhood, your kindness a constant reminder of what it means to love unconditionally, and your strength an inspiration I will carry with me forever.
Your life was tragically cut short, and losing you at such a young age is a pain I will always carry. It’s hard to understand why someone so full of life and love could be taken from us so soon and in such a devastating way. The same heartbreak fills my heart when I think of our beloved brother Lee, who also left this world far too early. Losing both of you has left a void that can never be filled. When I feel alone, or when missing you both becomes unbearable, I hold on to the moments I feel your arms around me. I believe, with all my heart, that one day we will be together again.
Though you’re no longer here with me, your spirit lives on in every memory we shared. I see you in the pink skies of the sunlit mornings and hear your voice in the quiet whispers of my soul when doubt and fear creep into my mind. You and Lee were my rocks, my guides, and my greatest gifts. Not a day goes by that I don’t miss you both deeply—it was always supposed to be the three of us until the very end.
Now, you rest peacefully together, and knowing that brings me some comfort, even though the ache of losing you both will never fade. You were both taken too soon, but your love and light remain with me, and your memories will forever be etched in my heart.
Rest peacefully, my Samantha, alongside our Lee. You may be gone from my sight, but you will never be gone from my heart. I love you both forever and always, and I promise that everything I do in my lifetime will be for you both and for your children—Callum, Kelsey, and Rocco.
Forever and always,
Your Little Sister, Carly
I think about you every single day, wishing I could hear your laugh, see your smile, or just feel your arms around me one more time. My biggest heartbreak is that you never got to meet my daughter. I named her after you because I wanted her to carry a part of you with her always & It hurts that you’ll never meet her.
But I promise you, she will know who you are. I’ll tell her all about the love you brought into my life, how much you meant to me, and how proud I am to call you family. You will always be with me, in my heart and in her name. I miss you so much 🤍
Love Always, Hannah
